5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Brilliant !   September 9, 2010
Blue Geff
As a keen amateur photographer using a Nikon D90 with great success and admiration I wanted something relatively small and not too expensive that would take HD Movies. After a lot of research I decided that the TZ 7 although now obsolete seemed perfect. Amazon were still selling at a good price. Ordered about 1400 hrs on standard no charge delivery and it arrived the next day.

Absolutely brilliant in every respect. In fact it is only when you really blow-up a still shot that you can see any difference between the TZ 7 and the Nikon. Pity it's not got a view finder but don't let that put you off.

Having used a bulky SLR for years I am thoroughly enjoying the versatility of this camera. It is a pure joy to use. The results are amazing.

This camera is everything that I wanted. Easy to use but has excellent features to play with. The screen is also great. All in all an excellent buy!

5 out of 5 stars Best "point and shoot" camera for the novice.   September 5, 2010

I brought this camera as an update to my last camera. I just wanted a camera with a good zoom lens without too much fussing around to capture scenes and views on our cruise holiday. The quality and features once using it far out-weighed my expectations - the performance that was achieved using it was amazing!!! I have still only touched the surface of what other features it has to offer. Can't wait to really get to grips with it. Best camera buy for the price.

I was going to buy a camcorder, but went for this as it has good video capacity for what I want and was a chance to upgrade my old camera. Used it at the Tall Ships Race the day after it arrived. I just set it to auto and shot everything in sight. It is steady as a rock even on long zoom, copes well with difficult lighting and was easy to use. It is taking me a while to get used to no viewfinder, but the screen is bright and clear. The main problem I have is that the video button is too 'handy'. I keep pressing it accidentally when I'm just trying to get a firm hold of the camera. The camera is well built and has a sturdy feel to it, which I like. I haven't had opportunity to try out the video capability yet. Overall, I'm glad I bought this one.
