Customer Reviews: Good CD player September 4, 2010 A. D. Sutherland (Essex, U.K.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The slender Panasonic unit is a great space-saver in the kitchen, with good tone and power to fill a fairly large room. It has solid low-profile switches and a decent enough remote control. CDs play with a clear, almost sharp sound, but depth too. Far, far better than the Sony radio/cd/cassette player I had in the same space. So far so good. The radio, however, has disappointed. There is no telescopic aerial, but a cable one must attach up the wall and splay into a T shape. This is unsightly, which wouldn't be so bad if it gave good reception, but FM is awful and DAB is only ok with a few stations, mediocre with others and non-existent with some that ought to be available and indeed are on my Denon unit in another room.
If you wish to buy this product, take care to get the lowest price, as at the time of writing this product page leads with a supplier and price that is £12 higher than Amazon's own price (reached by following the other 'New from' suppliers link).
Ticks all the boxes. August 19, 2010 David H. Bebbington (Kent, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This unit worked straight out of the box, once I had worked out that you need to screw the aerial on fully to make contact. FM, DAB and CD play working fine, with the unit on the corner of my desk 1 metre from my head I am using volume setting 20(max. is 50). For its intended purpose, the sound is great, the styling is very attractive, seems to be modelled on the obelisk in the film "2001 - A Space Odyssey" but why not? After 32 minutes of ownership I'm very happy with it.
SMALL COMPACT GOOD LOOKING MICRO SYSTEM June 4, 2010 J. M. Robinson 24 out of 26 found this review helpful
We were looking to replace a cheaper system with something of much better quality and get something far more compact without separate speakers and a system that had an iPod dock. This we achieved - although it ended up not being as powerful as our previous player! I would definitely recommend it for sound quality and style.
